Description

This Trailer Roller Bearing is the Standard Bearing Number 25580, which means it's designed to fit on the 1 3/4" portion of a Spindle, and into the Bearing Race # 25520. This is a Tapered Roller-Style Bearing, which is the most common bearing type among Trailer Hubs. This particular bearing is typically used on Trailers with a Capacity from 5,200lbs to 8,000lbs. This Size Bearing is usually seen in 6 Lug or 8 Lug Trailer Hubs, but it is not the only bearing size found in hubs of that capacity. Additionally, the 25580 wheel bearing is found in some heavier duty trailer brake drum applications as the outer wheel bearing. For this reason, it's always best to check your Trailer Hubs and Axle to make sure you get a proper Bearing replacement for your Boat or Utility Trailer.

To install a Bearing into your trailer hub, you need to start by Packing the Bearing full of grease. Take a handful of Trailer Wheel Bearing Grease and press the bearing into it, rotating the bearing as you go to get grease in each of the individual rollers. Once you've completely packed the bearing, simply drop it into your trailer Hub so it sits inside the matching Race. Depending on if the Bearing is the Inner or Outer Bearing of the hub, it will be secured into place with either the Hub's Grease Seal or the Flat Washer and Locking Mechanism on your TRailer Spindle.
