This zinc plated carriage bolt only measures 3/8 inches in diameter by 2 inches in length. Carriage bolts can be used for many different purposes on trailers and land applications, but you will most commonly see this size of 3/8 inch diameter carriage bolt used to secure components to enclosed trailers. This might include securing D-rings or tie-down loops, trailer door latches, E-Track, and more. The zinc plated steel construction will work great in any environment, whether it is being used inside of your land-based landscape or utility trailer, or on a boat trailer or jet ski trailer. Installation Note:
Use of a lithium or graphite-based lubricant is recommended during installation to prevent galling. Bolts must be tightened using hand tools ONLY and threaded on correctly. Improper threading, use of power tools, over-tightening or tightening too fast will result in galling or sticking of the bolt.
