Description

This replacement trailer hub bearing kit includes all of the races, bearings, and oil seal to replace the internal mechanical components on heavy duty 10,000 lb 8 bolt oil bath hubs. This 10k capacity bearing kit fits tapered trailer spindles with 2 1/4" by 2 5/8" bearing combinations, most commonly produced by Dexter Axle, as well as Hayes, Al-Ko, and Lippert. This 10k kit uses a 387A outer bearing with an inner diameter of 2 1/4 inches, and a 395S inner bearing with an inner diameter of 2 5/8 inches. You will want to double check and confirm that your trailer spindle and hub are compatible with these same bearings, as there can be a lot of variation with heavy duty trailer axles and hubs in the 10,000 lb capacity range.

This kit also comes with the matching races for each of the bearings (Race # 382A for the outer bearing, Race # 394A for the inner bearing), as well as a dual action unitized oil seal with a 2.875" inner diameter measurement and an outside diameter of 3.875". The included unitized seal is designed only for use with oil-bath style hubs; cross-reference for the seal includes Dexter #010-051-00, 10-51, National # 370150, and Transcom #OB2838051. The bearing kit is most commonly seen with Dexter Hub 8-214-5, and can be referenced as Dexter's "10k Heavy Duty" bearing combination, but you will need to check your hubs and bearings to be sure about compatibility. This is a great kit for replacing and refreshing the bearings on your trailer's hubs, drums, or rotors; we also have the commonly used 3.98" Thread Diameter 21-36 Replacement available for separate purchase if you need to replace your hub's oil cap as well!
