This Stainless Steel U Bolt is typically always used to mount Guide Poles or posts on your boat trailer to an aluminum I-Beam Frame. The common material for Guide poles would be 1 1/2" Square tubing in either aluminum or galvanized steel. These u-bolts have the perfect width and height to go around this tubing and mount up through the aluminum i beam. You would need to drill out these holes if you did not previous have these u bolts. It is ideal to use these Stainless Steel u bolts when mounting to an aluminum frame. The stainless steel material has a less damaging impact on the aluminum than a galvanized steel u bolt would. Stainless steel will not rust and last as long as you own the trailer.

Installation Note:

Use of a lithium or graphite based lubricant is recommended during installation to prevent galling. U-bolts must be tightened using hand tools ONLY and threaded on correctly. Improper threading, use of power tools, over-tightening or tightening too fast will result in galling or sticking of the U-bolt.
