Pre Greased Trailer Hub Galvanized 5 Lug for 3500lb Trailer Axle

Easy install, smooth action, and great choice for replacement.

Works well. Easy install with being pre greased. The Dexter instructions state to tighten with full hand force to approximately 50!ftlbs using a short ratchet or channel lock pliers. I did not have the 1-1/2” socket so used channel lock pliers and tightened the best that I could but noticed that 1 hub had a small amount of play once installing the tire and rocking it back and forth. Called Sturdy Built customer service and they said there should be no play at all so I purchased a 1-1/2” socket and torqued the nut to 50 ftlbs with a torque wrench and then backed off the nut and finger tightened and installed the locking washer per the Dexter instructions and reinstalled the tire and no more play when rocking the tire. Towed the boat for a couple hour drive and shot the hub temps and both were around 100 F so everything is working fine

This was a great buy. Fit perfectly on my 3500lb rated axle. Everything was pre-greased as advertised and there were no problems with packaging or shipping.

Ordered these galvanized hubs for one of my axles on a dual axle trailer. They came quickly and fit perfectly and since they are pre packed and greased did not have to spend much time to install. The specifications were accurate and will order these again if I need another pair.

This pre-greased, pre-assembled hub is a pleasure to install. I repeatedly dunk my boat trailer in salt water, so corrosion is constant problem. I wonder why the lug bolts are not galvanized? I used anti-seize compound on the lug threads and then sprayed a rust inhibitor on the lug bolts and nuts after the wheels were bolted on. I like all the technical details in the item's description so I know exactly what I'm getting. The fact that the hub uses 1.98 inch dust caps or bearing protectors needs to be added to the description.

Anyone using a trailer in heavy salt water needs these. They came complete and fit right the first time. Be sure however that the grease seals are the correct fit for you axle as there are several sizes depending on load rating of your axle.
