Kodiak Trailer Slip-on Disc Brake Kit DAC/ Stainless 12 inch 6 Bolt w/ Hubs

This is a great disc brake set manufactured by Kodiak.  This is one of their 6 bolt 5200lb capacity disc brake kits.  This particular brake kit has dacromet coated rotors and mounting brackets but is paired with their Stainless Steel calipers.  This is Kodiaks part # 2/RCM-12-DAC-SS.  This kit is designed to fit on 5200# or 6000# capacity axles using the standard 5 bolt brake flange.  This trailer disc brake kit comes with (2) 6 bolt idler hubs and will fit with 15” or larger wheels.  This slip-on style rotor is great b/c your hub and rotor are separate pieces.  Which means you can replace them independently of each other.  This means if you get broken down on the side of the road b/c of a bearing failure you can replace your broken hub that are commonly available and still re-use your kodiak rotor.  You must have 15" or larger wheels to use with this kit.  Using Kodiaks slip on brake set will add about a 1/2" of overall length to your axle.  This means that your tires and wheels will sit about 1/4" out further on each side.

What’s included:

This kit includes (2) 6 bolt hubs with inner and outer bearings with seals(2) dacromet coated 12” vented rotors.  The vented rotors help dissipate heat quickly.  (2) dacromet coated caliper mounting brackets. (2) Calipers that are 100% STAINLESS STEEL inside and out except for the brass fittings where your brake lines run in.  The brake pads are made of ceramic so that they will not rust.  The calipers ride on (4) Stainless Steel caliper mounting bolts.  An installation and instruction manual is also provided.

We think this kit is the best bang for your buck.  The most important part of any disc brake kit is the calipers.  In this case the calipers are made of stainless steel and will provide many years of trouble free service.  The parts that are easily replaceable such as the rotor and mounting brackets are dacromet coated to help keep costs down.

Kodiak offers a 3 year warranty on all of their dacromet coated parts, a 6 year warranty on the Stainless Steel calipers and on the ceramic brake pads against separation.
