Typically when needing to purchase one of the Hat Brackets, the 2" or the 1 1/2", you will also be needing some Boat Trailer U-Bolts to mount your guide poles to the frame of your trailer. The 2" Hat Brackets use 1/2" diameter U bolts. The 1 1/2" Hat Brackets use 3/8" diameter U Bolts. Below you will see mounting Brackets for boat trailer V-Bow Guides and boat trailer Guide Poles. We have aluminum and galvanized versions of the 2 inch, and a galvanized version of the 1 1/2 inch. These brackets have many uses along the frame and cross members of your boat trailer. The 1 1/2" Hat Brackets are most common on the rear of the boat trailer for mounting 1 1/2" square Aluminum or Galvanized Guide poles to a square tubing or c channel trailer frame. These Hat Brackets are used in conjunction with 3/8" Square U Bolts. The size U Bolt to use is determined by the Width and Height of your boat trailers frame. In addition, some boat trailer manufacturers have used these hat brackets to support 1 1/2" Square tubing for bunk bracket supports.

For the 2" Hat brackets in Aluminum and Galvanized, these brackets are most commonly supporting the V guide Bow support on the front cross member of your boat trailer. They have pre-drilled holes intended for use on 3" cross members. Also, some manufacturers use these 2" brackets to support 2" x 2" square tubing that is used on boat trailer cross members as bunk bracket supports.

You will also see below an I Beam Guide Pole Mounting Kit. This kit is used to mount 1 1/2" Square guide poles the the I Beam frame of either a boat trailer or a boat lift. This is a simple kit that does not require any drilling into the frame.
