This trailer u bolt is most commonly used to mount trailer leaf springs to trailer axles. For Example, a very common trailer axle diameter would be a 2" x 2" square tubing. This U Bolt would be the correct width to fit over the 2" Wide Axle, and be the correct length to fit up to a 4 Leaf Spring. You can use it on smaller leaf springs, down to a 3 Leaf Spring. For larger Springs, you can use a longer U-Bolt. This U Bolt will fit into the 5 Hole mounting plate that you would have on your Axle.
