Description

This reverse lockout solenoid by Dexter allows you to backup your trailer without needing to manually deactivate or block off your surge actuator to keep from applying the brakes. This backup solenoid is connected to your tow vehicle's reverse light with one wire and your trailer ground with the other, and will prevent the surge actuator coupler from pumping fluid to the brakes when the reverse lights are illuminated. This is a suitable replacement for a range of trailer disc brake surge couplers manufactured by Deter, UFP, and Titan (examples include part numbers T4839100, T4500600, T4839120, T4839000, T4839100, T4500600, T4839120, or T4839000). The alternate part number for this solenoid is K54-140-22, and replaces the solenoid on Dexter's master cylinder K71-757-00. Some previous iterations of the master cylinder used a bypass style Disc Brake Reverse Lock Out Solenoid Valve Kit, while others had a single wire solenoid. The solenoid eliminates the need to manually lock out the brakes as it allows for free backing of trailers. This solenoid can be used with either hydraulic disc or drum brakes and is rated for 800 PSI.
