Made in the USA, featuring a heavy duty steel construction with zinc plated finish for the ultimate corrosion resistance, this bolt on coupler will mount to your 3 inch wide trailer tongue using two or three 1/2" diameter trailer bolts. This product features Demco's EZ Latch system that will safely and securely connect the 2" towing ball to the coupler simply by lowering the trailer onto the ball. This system auto latches in place with an audible click, and is removed by lifting the latch, and raising the trailer with the jack. With a 7,000 lb capacity, this model coupler is ideal for medium duty marine applications, usually single axle 6 lug trailers, or single/tandem axle 5 lug Trailers.

This product is most common on boat trailers running electric over hydraulic brakes or as a stand alone application. Electric over Hydraulic (EOH) Brake systems use an electrical signal to power the Trailer's brakes, rather than a hydraulic force imparted by a moving actuator. Because of that, a Boat Trailer with that type of system installed doesn't need a brake actuator, but they still require a way for the trailer to be coupled to the tow vehicle. That's where products like this Demco Coupler come in. You may also be looking at this Demco Coupler for it's easier to use Latch style, even if your trailer has no brakes on it. Most trailers near the 7,000llb capacity that this coupler can handle will or should have brakes equipped, but if you have a lighter duty trailer with a 3" wide trailer tongue and you would like to use the Demco EZ Latch Style Coupler, there are no issues with doing that.
