This is a 2.328 diameter stainless steel Bearing Buddy from UFP by Dexter, designed for use with specialty boat trailer hubs to keep them properly lubricated and pressurized with grease. The 2.328 bearing buddy is used with hubs that have a matching outer bore diameter, most commonly seen on UFP / Dexter 4,200 lb boat trailer axles and hubs that have a straight 1 3/8" spindle with a 68149 (1 3/8" ID) by 68149 (1 3/8" ID) bearing combination. This type of hub was common on UFP trailers and axles, as well as being commonly used on boat trailers manufactured by Ranger, EZ Loader, Load Rite, and others. This bearing buddy was formerly UFP part number 07257, and is currently Dexter Part Numbers K71-013-00 and 021-111-00. If you need a protective rubber cover for this bearing buddy it will use the Trailer Buddy Bra 23B That Fits 2.328, 2.441, & 2.717 Bearing Buddys.

Common Bearing Buddy Question:
If I use a Bearing Buddy, do I still need to routinely inspect and re-grease my bearings?
Answer: Yes, while the bearing buddy allows you to apply grease into the bearing chamber, and pressurizes it to keep water and moisture out, this process does not replace grease. It is recommended to regularly inspect your trailer bearings even with the use of the Bearing Buddy to ensure that they are remaining in top working condition. You can simply remove your Bearing Buddy, Castle nut and Washer, and slide the Hub Off, inspecting the trailers spindle, Bearings and Grease Seal.
