5/8 inch Zinc Plated Boat Trailer Roller Shaft Pal Nut

Replacement boat trailer zinc plated roller shaft pal nut. Will fit onto the end of a 5/8" Roller shaft and used to keep your roller shaft in place. These roller caps are hammered onto the ends of the roller shaft to secure the roller in place. Ideally, this is easier to do with the roller bracket assembly off the trailer. Pounding the pal nuts onto the shaft requires resistance and force pressing against the shaft. Typically you will want to pound on one end, then slide the shaft on with the roller, leaving the opposite end exposed. Then, you can rest the already mounted end against a sturdy surface and hammer on the remaining cap. 

This 5/8" Diameter Cap is the most common sized used with 8 inch, 10 inch, and 12 inch keel rollers. The 5/8" Inner diameter of the Cap will match the diameter of your Rollers shaft. You can use these caps on either stainless steel or zinc plated Boat Trailer Roller Shafts. When mounting to the stainless steel shafts, be sure to score or file the ends of the shafts to allow the Pal Nuts a good rough surface to bite. The smooth surface of the stainless steel shaft pins will not make good contact grip without first roughing up the surface.
