This is a Black Rubber 3 inch Bow Roller. Bow rollers are designed to be mounted at the front of your boat trailer right where the bow of the boat contacts where your winch is mounted. The device is commonly called a "winch post", and would mount your winch and also hold the bow roller in place. This particular roller measures a true 3 1/8 inches from end to end. Typically this roller mounts using a 1/2 inch Trailer Bolt (which is not included) but is available in either zinc plated or stainless steel. Measure the space where your bow roller will mount, and determine the size bolt you will need. This winch roller is designed to protect the front of your boat and help is roller until the boat is at rest. The roller style allows for less resistance while launching and loading your boat on the trailer. The 3 inch style is very common on all types of boat trailers.
